Processing

Our first session features the language Processing, an extension of Java with a flexible software sketchbook. Designed to be a competitive, challenging, and fun camp for students who have little to no experience in programming, students will code their own projects and games. Last year, kids created their own games such as Tic Tac Toe, Brick, Bouncing Ball, and Maze.

May 28th - May 31st 

9AM - 12PM @ Koelbel

Java

Designed to be an intense, competitive, and fast-paced camp for students who have completed UNIQ or have had previous coding background, students will code using the Java language on the interactive Eclipse platform. Using their code, students will be able to solve complex mathematical algorithms.

June 3rd - June 7th

Speakers

Jill S Tietjen - Tietjen is an American electrical engineer, author, speaker, and women's advocate for Girls in STEM.She has written and co-authored 9 books and more than 100 papers. Additionally, she was inducted into Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 2010. 

Wendy Merchant - Merchant is the Founder and Executive Director of Girls in STEM, a nonprofit organization aimed at empowering girls to pursue a future in computer science. She is also a licensed mechanical engineer, having 20 years of experience working in the Colorado design and construction industry.

Ashley Moretti - Moretti is Community Development Specialist at Microsoft. Moretti will be doing a fun robotic finger simulation with the students.
